Wishful or Faithful Thinking?

Jan 16, 2024

I believe it's healthy to set Ephesians 3:20 sized dreams, even when you don't know how you will ever achieve them. Or is this just wishful thinking?

If you are a Christian entrepreneur and believe God's Word is His will for your life, ponder Ephesians 3:20 AMP.

- Now to Him who is able to carry out His purpose

- And do superabundantly

- More than all that we dare ask or think

- Infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams

- According to His power that is at work within us

I don't know about you, but this scripture always encourages me to dream bigger.

And I don't think it's wishful thinking.

Wishful thinking is when someone believes something is true or will happen just because they really want it to, even if there's no real evidence to support it. It's like hoping for the best without considering the actual facts or likelihood.

Instead, I think it is Faithful Thinking when you are standing on God's promises accompanied by the mighty force of faith and corresponding action

Or call it God-backed thinking when God is moved into action on your behalf because of your faith in His Word.

When you are trying to achieve the same by yourself, without God, that's wishful thinking.

Do you see the difference?

When it comes to going after your dreams, goals and desires, there's a gigantic difference between wishful thinking and faithful thinking.

You will be rooted by one or the other. And whatever the root is, the fruit is.

But how often do we allow our faith to be reduced to wishful thinking? Every time we put up with doubt, fear and worry, our faith with become contaminated.

So let me ask you this, how do you keep your thoughts on the faith side of things?
