Rethinking Patience.
Oct 27, 2023Rethinking Patience: Why It's More Than Just Waiting for Faith-Driven Entrepreneurs.
In our journey as entrepreneurs, particularly in the faith-driven space, we often hear that "patience is a virtue." While there's profound truth in this, I've observed that sometimes, what masquerades as patience is just an excuse for inaction.
As a managing partner of a venture studio, I've seen many founders, imbued with faith and passion, become immobilized. The uncertainty of what's happening or what to do next can be paralyzing. But here's what I do when the path is unclear:
- Seek Divine Insight: I start by asking God to reveal the deeper aspects of the situation. Understanding the 'why' behind the 'what' can be enlightening.
- Prioritize with Purpose: Next, I seek divine guidance on prioritizing tasks. Not all actions are equal; discerning the right move is crucial.
- Recall His Promises: Lastly, I remind myself of God’s promises. This isn’t just about hope; it’s about anchoring our actions in His infallible word.
This approach has shifted my perspective from passive waiting to active, faith-driven stewardship. It's not about rushing ahead recklessly, but rather moving forward with purpose, clarity, and trust in the plans He has for us.
To my fellow faith-driven founders, remember: our actions can be a testament to our faith. Let’s be patient, but let’s also be purposeful.
