Don’t confuse a lazy/undisciplined life with Work/Life balance.
Jun 14, 2023Don’t confuse a lazy/undisciplined life with Work/Life balance.
You can work super hard and still have balance.
Just ask the farmer. They comprehend the work principle of seed/harvest. Yet family is a priority.
If you want to succeed and prosper in this life, you’ll have to work very hard, and be very disciplined.
There are no shortcuts or hacks to success. That’s laziness.
Yes, each one of us gets to define success, but most of us don't want to merely survive, we want to thrive.
Living month to month is only surviving!
The farmer totally gets this. No hard work. No harvest. Your family with starve.
So does the book of Proverbs 14:23: Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty!
And if you are a faith-driven founder, your work is your calling.
Work isn’t something we do to live, it’s a calling we live to do.
The Apostle Paul wrote about this. He was a disciple of Jesus Christ who was also an entrepreneur.
He didn’t live off preaching or writing, he lived off his work. He was a tentmaker. He had business partners. He had responsibilities.
He knew how to connect the dots between business, purpose, success and faith.
In 2 Thessalonians chapter 3, Paul talks about following his example.
- He says they worked day and night
- That he was an example to imitate
- That the one unwilling to work shall not eat
- And that we shouldn't even associate with them
Silicon valley and big tech has produced a generation of entitled workers who are soft. Wokeness and their feelings became more important than performance and profitability.
It’s the Babylon of our times and it’s crashing.
Since the beginning of last year 563,194 workers have been laid off.
The work culture of SELF has produced this devastating loss and many great people have paid the price with their jobs.
I’m writing this to those of you who are faith-driven, embrace hard work and discipline. Your calendar and task list should reflect this.
Get into a position where you don’t just drive by the steakhouse, you get to go in and treat your family to a great meal.
And for those of you great workers who have been laid-off, I’m not blaming you! You are paying the price for a Godless culture.
If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, never forget it’s God who gives us the power and ability to create wealth. (Deut 8:18)
Yea, dream it. But also do it.
