Does God Want You To Be Successful And Prosper?

Oct 28, 2020

Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do [everything] in accordance with the entire law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may prosper and be successful wherever you go.

Joshua 1:7 AMP

When things aren't going well as an entrepreneur, when you feel like you're failing, it's easy to wonder if it's really God's will that you succeed and prosper.

As Christian entrepreneurs, our faith is important to us. And when we set goals around our dreams only to find ourselves struggling, we might wonder if God even cares about our business revenue? About our business model? About product-market fit? About all of our business plans. After all, this is where we are spending an enormous part of our lives working. A whopping 100,000 hours of our lives are invested here!

At times, we've all felt this way.

But the answer is clear. The answer is yes. God wants you to be successful, and to prosper. How do I know? Because it says so throughout the Bible. Remember, while the Bible was penned by God's chosen, but it has one author, the Holy Spirit. This is God.

When we experience momentary failure in business, we're only learning what doesn't work. It's not a time to give up. It's at these times when God has given me my most innovative ideas. And incidentally, in these times, the answer to my problems have always been right in front of me. I just couldn't see it until God gave me the wisdom to see it. (see James 1:5

In the New Testament, John was writing to a struggling friend when he penned 3 John. He said:

Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually]. (3 John 2 AMP)

I love that He says "in every way".

Look, God created you with a plan and purpose for your life. He has gifted you with special talents. There is no doubt that He wants you to be successful at what He created you to do. That's why it's so important to identify and fulfill God's plan and purpose for your life as an entrepreneur.

You have a calling on your life. As an entrepreneur, you are called to be driven by Faith, Purpose and Kingdom.

Driven by faith in God, and the 6000 plus promises in the Bible.

Driven by God's plan and purpose for your life as an entrepreneur.

You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you. (John 15:16 AMP)

Driven by your marketplace role in the Great Commission. (see Matthew 28:16-20 and Mark 16:15-20)

God has purposely placed you in your entrepreneurial calling. And if you'll let Him, He wants to partner with you. (Just an FYI ... He likes to be in charge.)

So be encouraged, commit your plans to God, let Him establish your steps, and God promises that your plans will succeed. (see Proverbs 16:3 and Proverbs 16:9)

Prepare for a shift in your life. Reset your expectations and thinking to align with God's promises. What you could not make happen on your own, God will cause you to accomplish.

It will be bigger than you thought, it will happen quicker than you imagined, and it will be more rewarding than you ever dreamed possible.

Have endurance during the tough times, tough times never last, but tough people do. (see James 1:3-4)
