Asking God to throw you a bone.
Mar 22, 2023Have you ever had a dog politely staring at you at the dinner table, hoping his master will throw him a bone?
That’s totally me when I’m asking God to advance His timeline, and throw me a bone.
Sometimes, after waiting and waiting and waiting, I approach God with a shameless audacity.
Like the dog,
- I’m polite
- I’m thankful for everything I have
- My trust is in God
- I’m not complaining
- I’m not being obnoxious
I’ve just grown tired of waiting and I ask God …
>> "Oh Jesus, can’t you throw a DAWG a bone?"
It’s an attitude Jesus taught about prayer in Luke 11, He calls it "Shameless Audacity".
“Yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.”
Same thing happened in Matthew 15 when a lady approached Jesus asking for help.
At first Jesus rejected her request, and then she went all in with shameless audacity saying “even the dogs eat the crumbs from their master’s table.”
Jesus replied, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.”
When you approach God for help, NEVER forget Luke 9:-13.
- Ask and it will be given to you
- Seek and you will find
- Knock and the door will be opened to you.
- For everyone who asks receives
