100,000 Hours In The Marketplace
Jan 25, 2022Ephesians 5:15-17 AMP - Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless, but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is.
Recently my mother-in-law shared the story of when Don Stephens, the founder of Mercy Ships (mercyships.org), met with Mother Teresa. She asked him four compelling questions when he was contemplating his calling, dreams and purpose.
- Why were you born?
- What is your dream?
- What is your purpose?
- What are you going to do about it?
He responded by going after an impossible dream, and then he and his wife launched Mercy Ships.
You and I are going to spend 100,00 hours of our lives in the marketplace. The question is, what are you going to do with the time? Whether you know it or not, there is already a God-planted dream, purpose and plan inside you. Maybe you already know what it is, or maybe you don't. Either way, it's there.
I love the challenge of Ephesians 5:15-17.
We are challenged to ...
- walk carefully
- live life with honor
- live life with purpose
- live life with courage
- live wise, making the most of your time
- recognizing every opportunity
- taking advantage with the time you have
- understanding God will for your life
Ask yourself the same four questions Mother Teresa asked Don Stephens. My guess is you've already been pondering all this, and I'm writing to you confirming what you already know. You know something special is inside you.
Make a decision today to go after what God has created you to do. Discover the purpose inside you. It is your destiny.
If you need help working through this, reach out to me.
What would you do, if you had all of the resources, and knew you couldn't fail? (God-planted dreams never fail)
Let the world know.
